Dragonblade Publishing is woman-owned, woman-run boutique publisher specializing in Historical Romance.

We work hard to make sure women’s voices are elevated. We work hard to make sure we are inclusive. We are committed to the diversity of romance and as of April 2021, 17% of our authors are BIPOC. Our first #ownvoices series is also coming out in April 2021, written by a disabled author of color about disabled veterans. We have hundreds of strong heroines and swoonworthy hero romances for you to read. There’s a good reason why Dragonblade Publishing is the #1 ebook publisher of Historical Romance on Amazon.

Multiple award winning, USA Today Bestselling, and Indie powerhouse author Kathryn Le Veque founded the company, but it is not her ‘vanity’ press. A vanity press is a publisher who charges money to publish a book. We don’t charge a cent to publish authors – in fact, they not only earn generous royalty rates, but we spend more on advertising than most small presses. Kathryn started the company with the sole purpose of helping authors find readers, to help them elevate their brand, and to help them earn money for their families. A quality product at a reasonable price: that was Kathryn’s original goal and it continues to be Dragonblade Publishing’s goal..

About Us:

Dragonblade is a full-service, traditional publisher. You write the book and we do the rest, paying for everything (editing, marketing, covers, etc) out of our portion of the royalty split. The author never spends a dime.

Dragonblade is extremely author-centric. We were started by an author, for authors, so our contracts are very author-friendly. Terms are for 5 years, but when they’re done, you can either renew the contract or get your rights back. We don’t hang on to them.

Dragonblade is inclusive, as explained in our Mission Statement. We actively seek talented diverse authors – BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, Neurodiverse, and more. Because everyone deserves a Historical Romance they can relate to!
