Author Interview with Tanya Wilde

Almost a Scoundrel is out today! Tanya was kind enough to answer some questions for us.

You can get your copy of this delightful historical romance HERE!

Did you always know you wanted to be an author?

No. Honestly, I wanted to be everything that ended with a gist. Romance author never entered my mind, even though I’ve been writing heart break poems since a little girl. But the moment I picked up my first historical romance book, my path was set!

What drew you to the era you write in?

There’s no scandal like a scandal in the olden days. I enjoy writing about disobedient women rebelling against society, against their circumstance, against decisions made for them, and historical romance (for me) is the perfect playground to have fun with their acts of defiance.

What do you think would be the most difficult part about living in that period?

Living without modern day tampons? J

What are your favorite kind of characters to write? Do you have a specific trope that you’re drawn too?

I love beastly or cold heroes and spunky heroines. My favorite tropes are hands down enemies to lovers and beauty and the beast!

From all your books, who is your favorite hero and why?

What a question! My favorite hero . . . My favorite hero at the moment is the Duke of Mortimer. I haven’t written his book yet, but he is always popping up in my Ladies Who Dare series and stirring up unwelcome emotions in my heroes. It’s so much fun! And he himself is a mysterious, righteous, poised man. I can’t wait to ruffle his feathers.
