Author Bio
Patricia Wilson is a life-long professional in the Hunter/Jumper equine discipline. She started seriously competing in horse shows, training horses and coaching riders in her late teens, and has continued successfully for forty years. Patricia holds six judging cards in five equestrian associations.
She wrote poetry and fiction in high school, but her equine career took off while attending the graduate program at The University of South Carolina, and studying under two great Southern writers—William Price Fox and James Dickey.
In 2020, she resumed writing and completed the manuscript for her historical romance The Heart of a Warrior during Covid isolation, and is represented by Metamorphosis Literary Agency for her second manuscript, A Symphony for the Earl. Other publications include a short story and a novella on Amazon; “A Surprise for Christmas”, featured in Mistletoe Magic: A Collection of Christmas Romances (2022) and “Love at the Café Azure” in Cupcakes and Cupid: A Collection of Six Delicious Romance Novellas (2023). She received honorable mentions in the 2020 and 2021 Writer’s Digest Annual Writing Competition for non-rhyming poetry and was a OKRWG Heart Award finalist in 2024.
Patricia is active in WFWA, OWFI, OKRWG, Pen and Keyboard, and the Pitch to Published online community. She lives in Edmond, Oklahoma with her husband Marcus and two lively terriers. Although semi-retired from equestrian activities, she still trains a few select clients, and continues to travel around the country judging horse shows. She writes every day, bolstered by classical music and lemonade tea.
