Author Bio
Tess Thompson Romance… hometowns and heartstrings.
Tess Thompson is a USA Today Bestselling and award-winning author of clean and wholesome Contemporary and Historical Romance, with over 60 published titles. Her heartfelt stories feature family sagas, romance, a sprinkle of mystery, and all the second chances her characters deserve.
Tess is happily married to Cliff, affectionately known as “Best Husband Ever.” Their love story is one for the books—they met on Tinder in their forties after both had endured heartache. Tess was a divorced mom of two girls, and Cliff was a widower raising two teenage boys. Now, their blended family includes two “Bonus Sons” and two daughters, all grown and forging their paths. Tess is incredibly proud of each one, even if she’s still puzzled by her daughter’s talent for Chemistry, which didn’t come from her!
A small-town girl at heart, Tess grew up in a place much like the towns in her novels. After earning her degree from USC’s Drama School, she dreamed of acting, but her passion for writing won out, leading to the career she cherishes today. Most days, you’ll find her matchmaking fictional characters from her cozy office, often with one of her cats—Midnight, Mac, or Mable—curled up nearby.
Tess loves strong coffee, red wine, reading in bed, and spending lazy afternoons binge-watching TV shows, especially Masterpiece Theatre. She’s a Zumba enthusiast, despite occasional knee protests, and has a soft spot for French fries over cookies any day. Cooking isn’t her strong suit—her cakes often fall apart, even with a mix—and she’s prone to a bit of messiness, especially when she’s on a writing deadline. But she blames her forgetfulness on the constant swirl of stories in her head.
Grateful for her readers, Tess pours her heart into every story she writes. With Cliff’s unwavering support, she’s living her dream of writing full-time from their recently purchased dream house on a small lake—a place she still pinches herself over. Tess’s books remind us that no matter how complicated life gets, love and second chances are always possible.
